The world is demanding ever-lighter, ever more efficient means of propulsion and we are helping to drive that trend. We can only do this because of almost three-quarters of a century of accrued know-how in advanced sand casting. No other casting organisation has the same resources or history of delivery.
The company dates back to 1946 when brothers-in-law Vernon Grainger and Charles Worrall initiated their venture in post-war Britain. Operating in the Midlands, they began as pattern makers and casting manufacturers. Ownership of the company had been held by Vernon Grainger’s three grandsons – Matthew, James and Edward.
However, a more recent development saw a change in ownership through a management buyout, leading to the creation of an umbrella company known as Evolution Castings Group Limited.
As a global leader in casting developments and innovation, our people are one of our biggest assets. We are privileged to have some of the most talented engineers in the UK working for Grainger & Worrall and now employ around 500 people. Every member of the team has a valuable role to play in the success of the business and we continue to recruit the brightest and most innovative individuals who are able to push traditional engineering boundaries.
We believe investing in the training and development of our employees is part of a process of continuous improvement essential to the success of the business. We encourage personal development and create a positive, thriving work environment. We are proud of the fact that we are able to help our employees’ progress through the business to take on new challenges and access different roles.
